Various night prayers collection

O Light whose splendor thrills and gladdens
With radiance brighter than the sun,
Pure gleam of God's unending glory,
O Jesus, blest anointed One.
As twilight hovers near at sunset,
And lamps are lit, and children nod,
In evening hymns we lift our voices
To Father, Spirit, Son: one God.
In all life's brilliant, timeless moments,
Let faithful voices sing Your praise.
O Son of God, our life-bestower,
Whose glory lightens endless days.

Lord of all gentleness, Lord of all calm,
whose voice is contentment, whose presence is balm,
be there at our sleeping, and give us, we pray,
your peace in our hearts, Lord, at the end of the day.

O radiant Light, O Sun divine
of God’s most gracious loving face,
O image of the Light sublime
come fill our evening’s dwelling place.
3rd century hymn, adapted

To you, before the close of day,
Creator of the world, we pray!
Your grace and peace to us allow
And be our guard and keeper now.

O God, you manifest in your servants the signs of your presence: Send forth upon us the spirit of love, that in companionship with one another your abounding grace may increase among us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ~ The Book of Common Prayer

O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in thy mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen.
